India's transshipment facility withdrawal carries no impact: Mintu

JESSORE, April 12, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice-chairman and former FBCCI chairman Abdul Awal Mintu today said India's withdrawal of transshipment facility will have no impact on the Bangladesh's economy.

"Bangladeshi products were exported to foreign countries via India under the cancelled treaty, but now we have the opportunity to increase exports using airlines," he told journalists after inaugurating a month-long trade fair hosted by Jessore chamber of commerce and industry at Town Hall ground.

Jessore deputy commissioner Md. Azharul Islam, superintendent of police Rawnak Jahan, district BNP general secretary Delowar Hossen Khokon, Jessore chamber of commerce and industry president Mizanur Rahman Khan and district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Prof Golam Rasul attended the event, among others.
