DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - A two-member delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by its president Maria Howlader met Malcolm Bacchus, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) recently at the latter's office in London.

The other member of the ICAB delegation was chief operating officer Mahbub Ahmed Siddique.

On the other hand, the members of the ICAEW's team were Jon Hooper, senior manager, international capacity building; Daniel Westley, senior international business development manager and Jonathan Mbewe, senior manager, international development.

ICAB UK Chapter chairman AKM Fazlur Rahman was also present in the meeting, said a press release today.

The ICAB team discussed a wide range of professional issues including mutual collaboration and professional development, artificial intelligence in profession, audit software, the implementation of sustainability reporting, learning, academic curriculum, students' pathway scheme, study materials, etc.

They also discussed the capacity of building of the institute including management organogram and the training.

The ICAB president and the president of ICAEW have agreed to come up with more specific provisions in the MoU to be renewed this year.

ICAB has been working with the ICAEW as the learning and professional development partner, and recognized tuition provider of ICAEW since 2008. In 2009, the ICAB signed its first MoU with ICAEW.
