MOULVIBAZAR, May 17, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to Ministries of Labour, Employment and Shipping Brig Gen (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain today said workers' wages will rise proportionally with the increase in tea prices.

“I will try to talk to the Tea Board to advocate for a price increase in the tea auction.

As tea prices rise, the wages of tea workers will be adjusted proportionally,” he said.

The adviser made these remarks while exchanging views with the tea workers and leaders in the district.

At this time, the tea workers highlighted the issues of their wages, medical treatment, and pure drinking water and sanitation problems.

The meeting was held at Srimangal labour office hall room here this afternoon with Labour and Employment Secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman in the chair.

Earlier, the adviser planted a tree sapling in the premises of the labour office.
