DSE rebounds after 2-day losing streak

DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has rebounded
after two-day losing streak.

DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, gained 18.7 points to settle at 4,795
points as against 4,776 points in the previous trading session.

Trading activities continued its stagnancy with total turnover in the DSE
being low at Taka 3.0 billion.

On the sectoral front, Pharma (25.5 percent) issues exerted the highest
turnover, followed by Bank (18.0 percent) and Mutual Fund (10.8 percent)
sectors. Sectors mostly displayed mixed returns, out of which Travel (0.8
percent), Bank (0.6 percent) and Financial Institution (0.6 percent)
exhibited the most positive returns on the bourse today, while Mutual Fund (-
0.4 percent), Food (-0.3 percent) and Tannery (-0.1 percent) exerted the most
correction.

Out of the 397 issues traded, 210 advanced, 102 declined and 85 remained
unchanged.

The port city bourse, CSE, however, settled on the red zone. The Selective
Categories' Index (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) fell by 6.9 points
and 8.0 points, respectively.
