ADB appoints Seong-Wook Kim as Chief Partnership Officer

DHAKA, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed 
Seong-Wook Kim as its Chief Partnership Officer.
 
He will lead the bank's resource mobilization and strategic engagement 
efforts under the Office of the President.

In this new role, Kim will guide ADB's partnerships with the international 
community, including active participation in major global forums and outreach 
to potential new members. 

He will play a central role in advancing ADB's collaboration with development 
partners to mobilize resources and amplify the bank's impact across Asia and 
the Pacific, said an ADB press release.

"As ADB elevates its role in a rapidly changing global development landscape, 
effective partnerships are more essential than ever," said ADB President 
Masato Kanda. 

"Mr. Kim brings deep experience in international diplomacy and a strong track 
record of multilateral engagement. His expertise will be instrumental in 
forging the partnerships we need to deliver greater development impact in 
Asia and the Pacific." added Kanda.

"I'm excited to join ADB and make a difference, growing partnerships that 
will accelerate sustainable development for Asia and the Pacific," said Kim.

A national of the Republic of Korea, Kim brings over 30 years of experience 
at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, including roles as Deputy Minister 
for International Affairs concurrently of G20 and ASEAN+3 Finance Deputy, 
Spokesperson, and Director General for International Finance. 

He also represented the Republic of Korea and other countries in Asia and the 
Pacific as Executive Director at the World Bank and the International 
Monetary Fund.
