DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - Some 10 Bangladeshi companies are participating in the three-day 'Global Sourcing Expo Sydney 2025' at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.

The international trade exhibition today began under the initiative of the Bangladesh High Commission in Australia.

With financial support from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), eight garment manufacturers and suppliers from Bangladesh are showcasing ready-made garments. Besides, two other Bangladeshi companies from the apparel sector have joined the exhibition on their initiative.

Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Australia F M Borhan Uddin formally inaugurated the Bangladesh Pavilion at the Sydney Global Sourcing Expo.

Commercial Counsellor Rony Chakma, Director of the organising body Julie Holt and representatives from the EPB and the Ministry of Commerce were also present at the event.

Around 600 manufacturers and suppliers from 12 countries are participating in this year's expo. Similar international trade exhibitions are held twice a year in Sydney and Melbourne.

These exhibitions serve as a vital platform for importers, exporters, producers, and suppliers to display products, explore new markets, and establish business networks in the field of international trade.

Currently, around 93 percent of Bangladeshi exports to Australia consist of ready-made garments. Bangladesh is now Australia's 23rd largest trading partner.
