General point to point inflation reaches 8.36% in September

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - The country's general point-to-point inflation rate increased slightly to 8.36 percent in September, 2025 up from 8.29 percent in August 2025, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

This slight increase in inflation was mainly attributed to a hike in both food and in non-food inflation.

The BBS data showed that point-to-point food inflation rose slightly to 7.64 percent in September, compared to 7.60 percent in August. On the other hand, the non-food inflation rate also increased to 8.98 percent in September, up from 8.90 percent in the previous month.

Inflation in both the rural and urban areas also recorded slight increase during the same period.
