30 factories receive 'Green Factory Award'

DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 30 factories from 16 industrial sectors have been honoured with the prestigious 'Green Factory Award 2025' for their commitment to environmentally sustainable industrial practices.

Adviser to the Ministries of Labour and Employment and Shipping Brig Gen (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain today awarded the representatives of the industries as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.

Adviser to the Ministries of Industries and Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan attended the event as the special guest while Labour and Employment Affairs Secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman presided over the event.

From the garments sector, Dhaka Textile Limited, Ecotex Limited, Fakir Fashion Limited, Tarasima Apparels Limited, Auko Tex Limited, and Square Fashions Limited were recognised for their environmentally friendly production processes.

In the textile sector, Akij Textile, Pioneer Denim, KDS Textile Mills, and Four H Dyeing and Printing were awarded for their sustainable initiatives.

In the electric and electronics sector, Transcom Electronics, Fair Electronics, and Walton Hi-Tech Industries received the award.

Akij Food and Beverage and Habiganj Agro Limited from the food and beverage industry were honoured for their eco-friendly production and waste management practices.

In the tea industry, Zareen Tea Garden and Mirzapur Tea Garden received the award, while Pragoti Industries was recognised from the automobile sector.

Adzi Trims from the accessories and backwards linkage industry, and Shoeniverse Footwear Limited from the leather industry, were acknowledged for their sustainable operations. Karupannya Rangpur Limited from the jute industry and X Ceramics from the tiles industry were also awarded.

In the cosmetics sector, Remark HB Limited and Square Toiletries were among the recipients, while SKF Pharmaceuticals received recognition in the pharmaceutical category.

In the ship-breaking industry, PHP Ship Breaking and Recycling Industries and KR Ship Recycling Yard were awarded, while Khulna Shipyard was recognised in the shipbuilding sector.

Additionally, BSRM Steels received the award from the steel industry, and Seven Circle (Bangladesh) Limited was awarded in the cement industry.
