ICAB's new president, 4 vice presidents elected

DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has elected N. K. A. Mobin as its new President; and Suraiya Zannath , Md. Rokonuzzaman, Muhammad Mehedi Hasan and Md. Moniruzzaman as new Vice Presidents of the Institute. 

They took over the charges of respective offices yesterday and will work for the Institute for a period of one year. The outgoing ICAB President Maria Howlader completed her office successfully, said an ICAB press release today.

N. K. A. Mobin is currently the Executive President of Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL), a licensed Credit Rating Company in Bangladesh from BSEC established around 16 years back. 

He is also one of the sponsor Directors of the ECRL.

Mobin has been in the Council of ICAB since 2019 and served the Institute as Vice President in 2019 and 2022. He also led the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) as Senior Vice-President, consecutively for 2 years.

He worked in Swedish/Dhaka Match, KAFCO, Ciba-Geigy/Novartis Bangladesh Limited and lastly in GrameenPhone Ltd., where he worked as Finance Director and Company Secretary.

He is currently serving as the Govt. nominated Board Director in Biman Bangladesh Airlines since August 2024, where he was also Director during the 2016-2020 period. 

Mobin is currently serving as Independent Board Director in The Citizen Banks PLC. Earlier he was the Independent Director of Bangladesh Submarine Cables Company Limited (BSCCL), Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited, Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Limited, Mobil-Jamuna Lubricants Bangladesh Limited, Shasha Denims Limited (all of which are listed in Stock Exchanges), Omera Petroleum Limited and Omera Cylinders Limited.
