DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today urged all the officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to concentrate on revenue collection while staying in their respective stations in the last few days left in the outgoing fiscal year (FY25).

The Finance Adviser also invited the representatives of the BCS (tax) and BCS (customs and excise) cadres to sit with him tomorrow at 5:00 pm to discuss on the already promulgated ordinance on the NBR, said a Finance Ministry press release.

It said through such discussions, it would be possible to bring necessary changes into the promulgated ordinance by July 31, 2025, through consensus after resolving all the misunderstandings on the ordinance.

Earlier on May 12, The Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance 2025 were promulgated.

Before that, the Council of Advisers in its meeting on January 16, 2025, decided to split the revenue board in two separate divisions based on the submitted report by the Advisory Committee on NBR reforms.
