DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Co. Limited, a Chinese-owned company, is set to establish a manufacturing facility in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) to produce Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones, and data cables. To this end, the company has signed an investment agreement with BEPZA.

This investment will not only reduce Bangladesh's reliance on traditional apparel and textile industries but also diversify BEPZA's export basket, adding a new dimension to technology-based manufacturing in the EPZ, said a press release.

The agreement was signed today (September 11, 2025) by Md. Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Li Fanfan, Managing Director of Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Co. Limited, in the presence of Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.

Direction Technology will invest US$ 3 million in the project, creating employment opportunities for 478 Bangladeshi nationals. The company's focus on wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, and data cables highlights Bangladesh's shift toward higher-value, technology-oriented manufacturing and complements the country's growing electronics sector.

Welcoming Direction Technology as a new member of the BEPZA family, the Executive Chairman said that while Bangladesh is globally known for its apparel industry, BEPZA is equally committed to diversifying its export basket. He noted that this investment adds a new product line in electronics, reflecting BEPZA's invitation to diversified industries. He assured the company of BEPZA's full support and called on them to maintain 100% compliance in operations.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior BEPZA officials including Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Engineering); A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance); Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion); Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Enterprise Services); and A.S.M.
