Passenger dies after hitting post from moving train in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) - A train passenger died after his head struck a 
signal post while leaning outside a moving train near Bejerdanga Railway 
Station in Khulna this afternoon.

Police said the unidentified man was traveling on the Betna Express, which 
was heading from Khulna via Mongla to Benapole. 

Sub-Inspector (SI) Azad of the Daulatpur Railway Police Outpost said the 
passenger was standing at the door of the train with his head outside when it 
hit the signal post beside the track. He fell from the moving train and died 
instantly.

On information, police recovered the body and prepared an inquest report. 

To confirm the victim's identity, a specialized forensic team from the Police 
Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) 
was called to the scene. The body was later sent to Khulna Medical College 
Hospital for post-mortem, the SI added.
