Manikganj, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) - The World Teachers' Day has been celebrated here in the district today.

To mark the day, the district administration and education office jointly hosted a function with Additional Deputy Commissioner (education and ICT) Farjana Priyanka in the chair. Deputy Commissioner Dr Manwar Hossein Malla addressed the event as chief guest. 

Manikganj Government High School Headmaster Momtaj Begum and Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam Biswas, among others, spoke at the event.

A number of teachers were awarded crests and certificates as the best teachers in the district.

Speakers at the programme demanded separate Directorate for the Secondary Education, resolution of the disparity between government and nongovernment institutions and a separate pay scale for teachers.

Earlier, a colorful rally was brought out in the district town with the participation of students, teachers and government officials.
