Child rescued after abduction, woman held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have 
rescued a child who was abducted from the Mansurabad area under Doublemooring 
Police Station and arrested a woman in connection with the incident.

The arrested woman was identified as Seema Akhtar, 32. She was detained 
during a raid at Cumilla Railway Station area on Saturday night, and the 
abducted child was safely rescued from her custody, confirmed Officer-in-
Charge (OC) Babul Azad of Doublemooring Police Station.

According to police, Seema Akhtar allegedly abducted the child of Rubel, a 
resident of a rented house in Mansurabad, on the afternoon of October 1.

Following the incident, the child's father filed a complaint with 
Doublemooring Police Station. 

Acting on intelligence and technological surveillance, police launched drives 
in Dhaka and Cumilla districts, leading to the arrest of the accused and 
recovery of the child.
