DHAKA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) – Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain has called for deepening Dhaka-Washington economic cooperation and expanding avenues of trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United States (US).

He made the urge when joined a high-level breakfast roundtable hosted by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) in New York on Wednesday, a foreign ministry’s press release said here today.

Hossain was accompanied by Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Ashik Chowdhury and Dr. Tasnim Jara of the National Citizen Party (NCP).

The meeting brought together business leaders and policymakers to explore new opportunities for trade facilitation, foreign investment and economic collaboration between Bangladesh, the United States and the wider international business community.

The adviser urged US businesses to seize the opportunities offered by Bangladesh’s strategic location, youthful workforce, and robust domestic market.

The BCIU roundtable, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, provided an interactive platform for global business leaders to engage directly with Bangladesh’s top policymakers on advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
