67.8pc growth of remittance inflow till Jan 7

DHAKA, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 67.8 percent reaching US$907 million in the first seven days of January, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.

Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $541 million.

During the July to Jan 07, 2026 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $17,172 million, which was $14,317 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
