
DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) is hosting Jean Bouquot, President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), in the city for a series of official programmmes, marking a significant engagement between Bangladesh’s accountancy profession and the global body.
The visit includes a strategic meeting at ICMAB Bhaban and a formal luncheon at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka, creating an important platform for professional dialogue and collaboration between ICMAB and IFAC, said a press release.
Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, FCMA, President of ICMAB, said, “We are honored to welcome the President of IFAC to Bangladesh. His visit reflects ICMAB’s growing global engagement and our continued commitment to developing a future-ready, ethical, and globally aligned profession.”
IFAC represents more than three million professional accountants across more than 140 countries. Jean Bouquot assumed office as IFAC President in November 2024, bringing over four decades of experience in global audit and professional leadership.
