Hili Land Port to remain closed for 3 days for elections

DINAJPUR, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - Hili Land Port in Hakimpur upazila of the district will remain closed for three consecutive days from February 11 in observance of the 13th parliamentary elections.

President of Dinajpur Hili Land Port Import and Export Workers Group Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi, confirmed the matter at 3:30 pm on Tuesday.

He said that all import and export activities through the Hili Land Port will remain suspended on February 11 and 12 due to the national elections. As of Friday, February 13, is a weekly holiday, the port will effectively remain closed for three days.

Import and export operations are scheduled to resume on Saturday, February 14.

Meanwhile, Administrative Officer of Hili Land Port Panama Port Limited, Md. Abdur Rahman, said that although import and export activities will be halted for two days — extending to three days including the weekly holiday — immigration services will also remain closed from 6:00 am on the voting day, February 12, until 6:00 am the following day.

However, he added that passport-holding passengers will be able to travel through the land port as usual on days other than the voting day.
