Snehashish Barua joins DSE Board as Independent Director

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - Snehashish Barua, FCA, has been appointed as an 
Independent Director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) PLC, formally joining 
the board during its 1109th meeting held today. 

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved his 
appointment on Monday, said a press release here on Tuesday.

Barua is the founding partner of Snehashish Mahmud & Co. (SMAC), a leading 
chartered accountancy firm. 

With over 20 years of multi-dimensional professional experience, he possesses 
extensive expertise in financial management, corporate finance, audit and 
assurance, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, risk management and 
corporate governance. 

Prior to founding SMAC, he held significant leadership roles, including 
serving as a Partner at Syful Shamsul Alam & Co. (UHY International) and as a 
Senior Manager at Rahman Rahman Huq (KPMG International).
