DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh successfully showcased its growing export potential and investment opportunities at the three-day Korea Import Expo 2026 in Seoul, with 32 companies displaying products from a wide range of sectors and holding business meetings with Korean buyers.

Organised by the Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul, the exhibition was held at COEX Hall B from June 23 to 25, said a press release here today.

The event was jointly inaugurated by Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) Chairman YoungMi Youn and Bangladesh Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Toufiq Islam Shatil, along with ambassadors from several countries and other distinguished guests.

The Bangladesh Pavilion, jointly inaugurated by Ambassador Shatil and KBCCI President Shahab Uddin Khan, attracted significant attention from buyers and visitors with its theme, "Invest in Bangladesh: Advancing Trade and Investment Through Strong Bilateral Relations."

Thirty-two Bangladeshi companies showcased products including garments, textiles, garment accessories, leather goods, footwear, jute and eco-friendly products, handicrafts, agro and processed foods, IT and AI-based software solutions, and logistics services.

The Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) also maintained a strong presence.

On the sidelines of the expo, the KBCCI delegation held a bilateral meeting with KOIMA leaders, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade and investment cooperation.

The discussions built on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between KBCCI and KOIMA in September 2024 to strengthen bilateral import-export cooperation.

A 41-member business delegation led by KBCCI President Shahab Uddin Khan participated in the expo and held more than 15 business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Korean and international buyers during the event.

At a reception hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy on June 26, Ambassador Toufiq Islam Shatil assured the delegation of the embassy's full support in promoting bilateral trade and investment.

The reception was attended by former South Korean ambassadors to Bangladesh Lee Yun Young and Park Young Sik, as well as Bangladesh's Honorary Consul General in Incheon, David Kim.

The Korea Import Expo 2026 featured around 200 booths displaying food and beverages, cosmetics, consumer goods, household products, health and wellness items, electronics, industrial materials and innovative technologies from participating countries.
