FM Zia beats his Serbian rival in 5th round

DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh's FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia beat 
his Serbian Grandmaster Sinisa Drazic in the fifth round of the Vojvodina 
Open 2026 (Category A) of the 4th International Chess Festival is now being 
held in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia.

The fifth-round game, held on Sunday night (Bangladesh time), and FM Tahsin 
played with the white pieces, adopt the Catalan Opening. 

He defeated Grandmaster Drazic and secured victory after sixty three moves.

With this win, Tahsin has secured four points from five games and is now 
sharing the leads in the tournament standings with four other players.
