13 more children admitted to hospital with measles symptoms

CHATTOGRAM, June 29, 2026 (BSS) - In the past 24 hours, an additional 13 children have been diagnosed with measles-like symptoms in Chattogram. 

This update was provided by the District Civil Surgeon's Office on Monday (June 29). The report indicates that the total number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases in the district has reached 321. Among these, 266 cases have been reported in the metropolitan area, while 55 cases have been identified across 15 upazilas. In the last 24 hours, 55 more suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals in the district.

Currently, 248 patients exhibiting measles symptoms are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Chattogram. Of these, 247 are from the metropolitan area, and one is from the upazila.

Additionally, 61 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours. Consequently, the total number of recovered patients in the district has now reached 3,467. District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam has urged the public to remain vigilant regarding measles prevention.
