
DHAKA, July 25, 2026 (BSS) - MetLife Bangladesh has settled claims amounting
to Taka 1,384 crore during the first six months (January-June) of 2026,
covering insurance benefits and payments for loss of life and medical needs.
In a media release here today, MetLife Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) Ala Ahmad said, "The claims amount settled in the first half of the
year reflects our strong commitment to supporting customers and their
families when they need us most.
By continuously enhancing our claims process to make it faster, simpler, and
more transparent, we aim to strengthen customer confidence and contribute to
building greater trust in Bangladesh's insurance sector."
In 2025, MetLife Bangladesh settled Taka 2,895 crore in claims, the highest
among all life insurance companies in the country while maintaining a strong
claims settlement ratio of 98 percent-- one of the highest in the industry.
Customers of MetLife Bangladesh benefit from a streamlined process, with
claims requests submitted online and payments typically disbursed within
three to five working days, the release said.
The company's proactive approach and efficient settlement have contributed to
higher customer satisfaction and strengthened trust in the insurance sector,
it added.
MetLife currently serves around 10 lakh individual customers and more than
900 corporate clients in Bangladesh.
