MYMENSINGH, July 25, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today said that the BNP government is working for the development of rural communities.

"Initiatives are underway to change the fate of the nation. Family Cards and Farmer Cards have already been introduced while a nationwide census for Family Cards is beginning," he said.

He made the remarks this afternoon while addressing a union-level BNP workers' conference as chief guest at Bashhati High School ground in Chandipasha Union of Nandail upazila.

He said BNP does politics for the people and the source of all power lies with the people. 

He recalled that BNP government in the past had made education free for girls up to HSC level. "Now, current government has taken steps to make education free for girls up to degree and honours level," he added.

Special guest Motahar Hossain Talukder, Joint Convener of Mymensingh North BNP and Chairman of Mymensingh Development Authority, also spoke at the event.

Senior Joint Convener of Nandail BNP Mizanur Rahman Liton conducted the conference. 

Enamul Kadir, Babu Pallab Roy, Omar Faruk Nomani, Nazrul Islam Fakir, Kamruzzaman Russell, Akram Hossain Ferdous, Shakil Mahmud, Osman Gani Liton Sarkar and leaders of local Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and other affiliated organizations were present among others.
