RCC launches journey of skill development institute

  RAJSHAHI, Jan 1, 2024 (BSS)- Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched the journey of its skill development institute aimed at generating employment scopes for unemployed youths.

     RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton declared the institute opens while inaugurating an orientation and training programme for 240 students at the city bhaban conference hall here today.

     Established at the tenth floor of the city bhavan's annex building, the institute will conduct four courses, Web design and development for freelancing, digital marketing for freelancing, graphics design for freelancing and video editing for freelancing, for the interested people.

     Each of the courses will be four months with seat capacity 30 in each of the courses. Each of the courses will have scopes of English spoken courses free of cost for boosting communication skills.

     RCC and National Skill Development Authority belonging to the Bangladesh Technical Education Board will provide certificates to each of the participants upon successful completion of the course.

     Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton said they established the institute for creating skilled human resources through training.

     He mentioned that many people are seen earning huge money and bringing dollars from abroad through freelancing sitting at home. They are also working as remittance fighters.

     Liton said they are very much intended to generate employment opportunities for the youths both boys and girls after the best use of the potential sector.

     With RCC Chief Executive Officer Dr ABM Sharif Uddin in the chair, the opening ceremony was addressed, among others, by Chief Engineer Nur Islam, Panel Mayor Nizam Ul Azim, Divisional Head of Rajshahi Women Technical Training Centre Atiqur Rahman and Coordinator of the institute Prof Habibur Rahman.
