Govt to remain beside the poor during emergencies: AK Azad MP

GAIBANDHA, January 16, 2024(BSS) - Newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Gaibandha-4 constituency Abul Kalam Azad has said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government would remain beside the poor people during the emergencies.

“As you have kept faith and trust on Awami League and cast your vote for boat to help Awami league form the government for four consecutive terms under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina defying all sorts of conspiracy, her government would remain by the side of the poor people to mitigate their sufferings caused by the cold wave,” he also said.

Abul Kalam Azad, MP, made these comments while addressing a function on the occasion of blanket distribution programme to the poor people at Gobindaganj High School on Monday afternoon as chief guest.

Upazila Disaster Management Committee arranged the function where upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Russel Miah presided over the function.

Abul Kalam Azad distributed 2000 pieces of blankets to the cold affected people of the upazila town and its surrounding areas.

The lawmaker in his speeches termed the Sheikh Hasina’s government as poor friendly government and said this type of activities would continue until the cold wave disappears.

Mayor of Gobindaganj Municipality Muketur Rahman Rafi, upazila project implementation officer Md. Zinder Ali, political leaders, elite of the town and journalists were present on the occasion.
