6 spurious date gur manufactures penalized in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 25, 2024 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB, in
different anti-crime drives, unearthed six spurious date gur factories and
fined Taka 2.45 lakh in the district on Wednesday, the RAB sources said here
this noon.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force unearthed the fake date manufacturing
factories at Uttar Punchpara and Chaidiarppara villages under Bagha upazila
and seized huge spurious date gur and gur making chemicals and instruments
including sugar, fitkari, hydrous and butter.

Owners of the factories are: Lalon Ali, 35, Joynal Abedeen, 36, Muhammad
Polash, 28, Mina Rani Mondal, 30, and Sabuj Ali, 33, the sources added.

Subsequently, the operation team produced them before a mobile court and the
on-duty executive magistrate fined the factory owners Taka 2.45 lakh on
charge of their involvement in the malpractice.
