111 retired employees get Tk 7.35 lakh grants in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 31, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 111 retired government employees were given grants worth Taka 7.35 lakh aimed at mitigating their sufferings caused by financial hardships here today.

District unit of Bangladesh Retired Employees Welfare Samity (BREWS) distributed the bank cheques of the grants money in a simple ceremony at the office conference hall of Deputy Commissioner this noon.

Taka 1,39,200 were distributed among 20 of the recipients as education scholarship, Taka 2,25,000 among 45 lump sum, Taka 3,01,000 as emergency treatment and Taka 70,000 was given to three as specialized treatment.

DC Shamim Ahmed accompanied by BREWS local unit chairman Jahangir Ali and general secretary Mozammel Haque distributed the bank cheques.
 
Shamim Ahmed expected that the financial support will benefit the recipient families in terms of mitigating their constraints.
