Homage paid to language martyrs in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Feb 21, 2024 (BSS) - Homage paid to the language martyrs marking the International Mother Language Day and Language Martyrs Day in the district today.

People from all walks of life paid homage to the language martyrs by lying wreath at the altar of Shaheed Minar at one past 12 midnight last.

Md Abul Kalam Azad, MP, flanked by Deputy Commissioner Md Shafiur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Md Kamruzzaman, President of District AL, Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah first placed wreath.

Besides, District Administration, Police Administration, Police Bureau of Investigation, Zila Parishad, Jamalpur municipality, Freedom fighters, Civil Surgeon Office, Upazila Parishad, District Bar Association, political parties, Ansar, Educational Institutes, Press club and social and cultural organizations placed wreath at the Shaheed Minar.

Political parties, educational institutions and various social and cultural organisations took out elaborate programmes to observe the day.
