MANIKGANJ, Feb 24, 2024 (BSS) - The bathing festival of the Hindu Community
started in the Jamuna river at Aricha Ghat here today on the occasion of
'Maghi Purnima'.

On the occasion, a four-day Snanmela also started this morning at the Aricha
Ghat.

Thousands of children, youths, women and men from different parts of the
surrounding districts took part in the bathing festival through religious
ceremonies, as they believe, to purify themselves.

As a result, the banks of the River Jamuna and the port market area of Aricha
Ghat in Shibalaya upazila of the district were crowded with pilgrims who came
from remote places to bathe in the river.

Mentionable, it's a traditional festival of the Hindu community which has
been continuing for more than one hundred years.
