Holy Shab-e-Barat observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Feb 26, 2024 (BSS)-The holy Shab-e-Barat was observed here last night with due religious fervor and solemnity.
 
The Muslim devotees passed the night at city’s different mosques, offering special prayers, reciting from the Holy Quran, holding doa mahfil, zikir and other religious activities, seeking blessing of the Almighty Allah for the peace and progress for themselves, their families, relatives, friends as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
 
Religious sermons (waz mahfil) were also delivered at different mosques including Town Jame Mosque, Baitun-Nur-Jame Mosque, Darul-Ulum Jame Mosque, Iqbal Nagar Jame Mosque, Basupara Jame Mosque and foods, sweets and money were distributed among the poor and destitute.
 
Many people also went to different graveyards in the city and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of their near and dear ones. The authority of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) illuminated and decorated all city graveyards including Tootpara, Basupara and Nirala on the occasion.
 
Many devotees expressed their satisfaction as no firework was exploded in the city last night on the holy Shab-e-Barat in line with the restriction by law enforcers.
 
They said they are happy over banning on explosion of firework which caused sound pollution and irritated them (devotees) while offering prayers, zikir and recitation of the holy Quran.
