World Health Day observed in Natore

NATORE, April 6, 2024 (BSS) - The World Health Day-2024 was observed in the district today.


This year's theme of the Day is 'My Health, My Right'.

 

The World Health Day was observed in the country today due to the government instruction as tomorrow is a public holiday.


The World Health Day 2024 will be observed globally on 7 April (Sunday) tomorrow.


This year's theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.


On the occasion of the day, a discussion was held at the Civil Surgeon's office organized by the District Health Department with Civil Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Moshiur Rahman in the chair this morning.


Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Medical Officer of Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Md. Russell, President of Natore Press Club Faraji Ahmad Rafiq Babon and Education Research Officer Tariqul Islam, among others, spoke.


The speakers said that the achievements of the country's health service sector in the past are extraordinary. Average life expectancy has increased to 73.36, maternal and child mortality rates have decreased, nutritional quality has improved, polio and black fever have been eradicated from the country, people are being protected by eight vaccinations against 11 diseases across the country.
