11 get BJWT financial support in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 6, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 11 journalists here today received Taka 6.50 lakh as financial assistance from Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust (BJWT) constituted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
The cheques were distributed at a function held at the office conference hall of Rajshahi Union of Journalists (RUJ) today.
 
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Shafiqur Rahman Badsha, MP, attended and addressed the cheque-distribution ceremony as chief and special guests respectively, with RUJ President Rafiqul Islam in the chair.
 
Mayor Liton said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is media-friendly and the formation of BJWT is a benevolent task for the journalists.
 
He also said the nationwide development programmes have become visible and urged the journalists to highlight the development and successes of the government through their objective reporting.
 
Mayor Liton said this financial assistance will contribute a lot towards improving the level of confidence of the working journalists as the Premier stands beside them by enhancing her helping hand.
