Historic Mujibnagar Day observed in Shariatpur

SHARIATPUR, April 17, 2024 (BSS) - The historic Mujibnagar Day was observed in the district today in a befitting manner marking the oath-taking of country's first government on April 17 in 1971.
 

On the occasion, a discussion meeting on 'The historic Mujibnagar Day and Bangladesh Independence' was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner office this morning with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nizam Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Saifuddin Gias, Additional Superintendent of Police Tanveer Haider Shaon, Shariatpur Press Club President and District Awami League General Secretary Anal Kumar Dey, Shariatpur Municipal Mayor Parvez Rahman John, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) Md Mohibur Rahman, Executive Engineer LGED SM Rafeul Islam, Executive Engineer Roads and Highways Sheikh Nabil Hossain, District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mainuddin and freedom fighters, among others, were present.
 

The speakers highlighted the importance and significance of the historic Mujibnagar Day and said that this Mujibnagar is a bright example of Bangladesh's glorious independence.
 

On the occasion of historic Mujibnagar Day, the district Awami League held a discussion at the party office in the afternoon.
