Workshop on mango production, processing and export held in Chapainawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, April 27, 2024 (BSS)- A workshop on "Mango production,

processing and increasing prospects of exporting fresh mangoes and mango
products" was held at Mobarakpur union under Shibganj upazila of the district
today.

Bangladesh Mango Producer Merchants Association (BMPMA) arranged the daylong
workshop in association with Business Promotion Council of the Ministry of
Commerce.
 
It was held at the conference room of Mobarakpur Union Parishad (UP) with the
secretary of BMPMA Md. Shukuruddin in the chair.

Chairman of the UP Md. Mahmudul Hoque Haidari attended the programme as the
chief guest while Director of Horticulture Bangabandhu Live Mango Museum,
Chapainawabganj D. Md. Zahurul Islam spoke in the workshop as the chief
speaker.

Former vice-president of Chapainawabganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md.
Monwarul Islam Dalim and former general secretary of BMPMA M. Quraishi Milu
attended the workshop as special guests.

Different issues like production of safe chemical-free mangoes, diseases and
pest management of mangoes, increasing production through nursing and
increasing prospects of exporting fresh mangoes and mango-products were
discussed in the workshop.

A total of 70 mango farmers and traders participated in the workshop.
