Two electrocuted in Chapainawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 1, 2024 (BSS)- An elderly man and a minor girl died of
electrocution in two separate incidents in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on
Friday.

The deceased were Md. Abdur Rahim, 62, son of Md. Abdus Sattar of Chamagram
village under Baroghoria union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila and Mahi
Khatun, 6, daughter of Bulbul of Debinagar Abdur Rahmaner Tola under
Debinagar union of the upazila.

According to locals, Mahi was electrocuted while she sat on her father's
rickshaw van which was being charged at her house around 12.15 pm.

Family members rescued her and took her to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital
where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.

On the other hand, Abdur Rahim was electrocuted when he tried to save his
wife, who came in contact with a live-electric wire during drying clothes at
their village home in Baroghoria union around 11:30 am.

He was rushed to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital where the duty-doctor
declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC)of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana Md. Mintu Rahman
confirmed both the incidents.
