Khulna People hail proposed budget for FY25

KHULNA, June 7, 2024 (BSS) - Khulna chamber of commerce and Industry (KCCI),
entrepreneurs and leaders of different socio-cultural organisations and
political parties today hailed the proposed budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal
year (FY) terming as a pragmatic and development-oriented.

This budget is a step towards turning the country into a developed one by
2041, they commented.

While hailing the proposed budget, Khulna Awami League and its associate
organisations brought out a pleasure procession last evening that paraded the
city's main streets. Awami League city unit general secretary M D A Babul
Rana led the procession.

In an instant reaction, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul
Khaleque said the country's development and dream achievement will go ahead
in the proposed budget.

Khaleque, who is also the president of city unit AL, said the pro-people
budget would play a significant role to boost up the economy, poverty
alleviation, improvement of quality education, health, agriculture and
industrial sectors and empowerment of women establishing a smart Bangladesh.

In the budget reaction, President of KCCI Kazi Aminul Haque termed the
proposed budget for FY25 as a business, agriculture, education, health,
investment-friendly, development oriented and wellbeing for people.

"There are a lot of new dimensions, incorporated in the budget to cope with
the present economic situation and industrialization," he added.

President of Khulna Unnyan Sangram Somonnya Committee Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman
termed the proposed budget as highly ambitious and development oriented which
would create opportunities for businessmen and private sectors.

He also thanked the government for increasing social safety net for the
people of rural areas, rootless and landless people of the country.
