Mayor Khaleque visits main Eidgah in Khulna

KHULNA, June 15, 2024 (BSS) - Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today visited Khulna Circuit House Ground, the largest Eidgah in Khulna, to witness the preparation of the main Eid Jamaat.

The Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest festival of the Muslims, is to be celebrated on June 17, 2024. The main jamaat of Eid-ul-Azha will be held at 8:00am on the Eid day at the Khulna Circuit House Ground in the city if the weather is favourable.

Terming Circuit House Ground is the historical place of Khulna, the KCC mayor said, all preparations are about to be completed to perform the main Eid Jamaat here at 8.00 am.

He said, in case of inclement weather or any other unavoidable reason, the main congregation of Eid will be held at 8:00 am at the Town Jame Mosque. The second Jamaat will be held at 9.00 am and the last Jamaat will be held at 10.00 am.

Two Eid-Jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are held here every year if favourable weather where mass people join , he said, adding that all mosques and Eidgah of 31 wards of KCC will be arranged Eid Jamaat by their own management.

He, however, said KCC has taken all out preparation to clean the waste of sacrificial animals before the evening on Eid day.

Among others, the commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Md Mozammel Haque, the chief executive officer (CEO) of KCC Tazul Islam, and the additional district commissioner (ADC) Mir Alif Reza, were present.
