60,000 members of 10,000 families to be involved in re-greening project

GAIBANDHA, JULY 09. 2024 (BSS)-As many as 60,000 members of 10,000 households of two unions under Sadar upazila in the district would be involved in Gaibandha Re-Greening project that would be implements till December, 2025.
 
World Vision Bangladesh, Christian, humanitarian development and advocacy organisation would implement the project at Malibari and Boali unions of the upazila with the financial support of the World Vision Hong Kong.

This was disclosed by the officials at a launching program of the project at the hall room of SKS Inn located at Radhakrishnapur, an outskirt of the district town here this noon.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Al- Hasan attended the function and addressed it as chief guest and Area Program Manager of Pirganj upazila of the organization spoke at the event as special guest while Area Program Manager of the organization, Gaibandha unit Uttam Dash presided over the function.
 
Upazila Livestock Officer Tarun Kumar Datta, Upazila Engineer of the LGED Md. Bablu Miah, Upazila Primary Education Officer Zakirul Hasan and Malibari UP chairman Soyeb Md. Russel addressed the function among others.

Earlier, a presentation on the project and its overall activities was screened by Area Manager of Gaibandha Uttam Das.

In the presentation, Uttam Das said tree plantation activity; installation of solar panels would be done in these unions under the project.

Beside this, people of the project command area would be made aware about climate change and they would have to be made adaptive with climate change smart agri technologies to keep food production continued to achieve sustainable food security.

At last, he sought whole-hearted cooperation of all to run the project in the unions peacefully.
UNO Mahmud Al Hasan in his speeches assured the concerned of providing all sorts of administrative help and assistance to make the project fruitful in the unions of the upazila.

Upazila level officials, public representatives, social workers, invited persons attended the function.
