NOAKHALI, July 29, 2024 (BSS) - A preparatory meeting on observance of the National Mourning Day-2024 and the 49th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was held in the district today.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner office this morning, organized by the district administration with deputy commissioner (DC) Dewan Mahbubur Rahman in the chair.

The DC gave necessary directions to the concerned authorities to observe the National Mourning Day on August 15 in a peaceful manner.

It was also decided that the 75th birth anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on August 5 and the 94th birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib on August 8 with due dignity.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Sharmin Ara, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Akhinur Jahan Nila, Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Md Ibrahim, freedom fighters and journalists, among others, were present.
