Tk. 41.50 lakh distributed among 83 patients in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Aug 29, 2024 (BSS) - Medical assistance cheques worth about Taka 41.50 lakh were distributed among 83 patients of cancer and other complicated diseases in Nawabganj upazila of the district from the fund of Social Services office today.

Upazila Social Service Officer Shubhra Prakash Chakraborty handed over the cheques to the patients at a function held in Nawabganj Upazila Parishad hall room, organized by the upazila administration with Nawabganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Anwar Hossain in the chair this afternoon.

The upazila social service officer said that cheques for a total of Taka 41 lakh 50 thousand were distributed to 83 patients of nine unions of the upazila at the initiative of the social service office.

A total of 83 patients suffering from Cancer, Kidney, Liver Cirrhosis, Stroke, Paralysis, Congenital Heart Disease and Thalassemia were provided with medical assistance of an amount of Taka 50,000 each.

The recipients of medical assistance expressed gratitude to the interim government for the assistance for their treatment.
