Cows distributed among 70 ethnic groups people in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 70 cows were distributed among the members of ethnic groups in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district to improve their socio-economic condition and living standards.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Fazle Elahi distributed the cows to each of 70 indigenous Santal families of ethnic groups at a function organised by the upazila Animal Resources and Veterinary Hospital here this morning.
 
The district Animal Resources Officer Shahriar Mannan presided over the function.

UNO Fazle Elahi said the interim government distributed 70 cows in the first phase in Birganj upazila for the livelihood and socio-economic development of the indigenous community of the ethnic groups of the country.

The Upazila Livestock Department will supervise the normal rearing of the cows distributed among them.

Birganj Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Belal Hossain, Birganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdul Gafur, Upazila Food Control Officer Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Noman Ali and General Secretary of Upazila Adivasi Samaj Unnayan Samity Kamalakanta Hasda, among others were present.
