RANGPUR, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an abductor and rescued a kidnapped teenage girl of Sadar upazila in Gaibandha from Purbo Mouchak area under Kaliakoir police station in Gazipur district on Wednesday afternoon.
 
"The arrested abductor is Md Sohrab Hossain, 20, son of Md Sadek Ali of village Arif Khan Basudebpur in Sadar upazila of Gaibandha," said a press release issued by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem today.
 
Earlier, the arrested accused with his accomplices abducted the victim of the same area and her father filed a case in this connection with Gaibandha Sadar police station on February 12, 2025.
 
The incident created a sensation in the area and came to the notice of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 of Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13. 
 
Alongside the police, CPC-3 of Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 enforced intelligence activities and started a shadow investigation into the case to nab the absconding accused abductor.
 
On a tip off, an operational team of the CPC-3 of Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 jointly with the Specialised Crime Prevention Company of RAB-1 at Gazipur conducted a raid at Purbo Mouchak area under Kaliakoir police station in Gazipur and arrested the prime accused of the case Sohrab Hossain and rescued the victim at 5 pm on Wednesday.
