RANGPUR, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives arrested five presumed drug traders with huge phensedyl from different areas in Lalmonirhat district today.
“The elite force seized a total of 1,175 bottles of smuggled phensedyl in these drives,” said separate press releases issued here by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem tonight.
On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a drive at Uttar Jawrani village under Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat and arrested four persons with 525 bottles of phensedyl from the spot at 8:20 am today.
The detainees were identified as Md Nazrul Islam, 30, Md Aminur Islam, 55, Shri Shudhir Chandra, 35, and Md Rakib Islam, 36, all hailing from village Uttar Jawrani in the same upazila of Lalmonirhat district.
Another operational team of RAB-13 in a raid seized 650 bottles of phensedyl and arrested one person from Khamarbhati Paschim Para under Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat district at 10:50 am today.
The arrested person was Md Khabir Uddin, 70, of the same village in the upazila of Lalmonirhat district.
The elite force handed over the arrested persons to the concerned police stations in Lalmonirhat district for further legal actions, the release added.
