SAVAR, Feb 28, 2025 - Police arrested two snatchers with local weapons during a drive in Savar area this morning.

The arrested individuals are - Iqbal (22) son of Jinnat Ali from Rupnagar village in Dhamrai, Dhaka and 
Tanmoy Mistry (21) son of Pradeep Mistry from Mominath 
village in Banaripara, Barisal.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, Jewel Mia said 
based on secret information, police conducted a drive at Baktarpur 
three-intersection road of Savar Municipality and arrested the duo. 
They also recovered a switch gear knife and a chapatti from them.

OC Jewel Mia said police is conducting regular drives to maintain law 
and order in the region.  
 
The arrested snatchers were sent to court on Friday afternoon, he 
added.
