MADARIPUR, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - The district Anti-Corruption Commission today filed a case against 23 people, including former land acquisition officer Promoth Ranjon Ghatak.
Deputy Director of the anti-graft body told journalists that they started inquiry against Promoth Ranjon and others for their suspected involvement in misappropriation of nearly Taka 10 crore through false and fabricated papers from land acquisition in the Padma Multi-Purpose Bridge.
The ACC team during its investigation came to know that Promoth Ranjon along with his two supervisors Rasel Ahmed and Nasir Uddin in connivance with local Duttapara union council member Sudhangshu Kumar Mondal and some local touts misappropriated Taka 9,97,85,054 from the project creating false and fabricated papers.
The ACC will launch special drive soon to nab the accused, the official added.
