SHERPUR, Mar 6, 2025 (BSS) – National Jute Day-2025 was observed here today in a befitting manner.
The theme of day was-‘Let’s avoid using polythene, promote jute goods to build Bangladesh.’
To mark the day, district administration and the district jute office jointly organized a discussion at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room.
District jute development officer M Ayub Ali presided over the meeting while deputy commissioner Tarafder Mahmudur Rahman was the chief guest.
Speakers gave emphasis on enhancing support to the farmers in jute cultivation and getting fair price.
They also called for tough rule to oblige people to use jute goods and refrain from using polythene shopping bags.
Senior officials of the district administration also spoke on the occasion.
