Truck sale of edible oil starts in N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ, March 6, 2025 (BSS) – Meghna Group, one of the country’s leading private industrial conglomerates, today started truck sale of edible oil at a special discounted price in the district to help consumers get the essential commodity amid shortage of bottled edible oil in the market.

The industrial group launched the initiative responding to the call of Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) to help the consumers get the essential commodity in a lower price during the holy month of Ramadan, said a press release here.

Narayanganj DC Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mian inaugurated the programme in front of his office this morning.

Police Super Prottus Kumar Majumdar, Additional DC (general) Mohammad Alomgir Hossain, Ansar Commandant Kanij  Farjana Shanta and Meghna Group General Manager Sarker Farhad Ahamed were present on the occasion. 

Speaking on the occasion, Jahidul Islam said along with edible oil, aromatic rice, pulse, sugar and other necessary goods are also being sold at a special discounted price through the truck sale.

According to the release, about two tonnes of edible oil will be sold through truck everyday and the programme will continue throughout the month of Ramadan.
