Minor child dies in fire in Narsingdi

Narsingdi, 7 March, 2025 (BSS) -A fire broke out at a house on Friday killing a six-year-old child while she was asleep at Rasulpur Eidgahpara under Karimpur union in Narsingdi.

The victim was identified as Sumaiya Akter ,6, daughter of a fisherman Monir Hossain.

Saidur Rahman, in-charge of Karimpur River Police Outpost said that the locals first noticed that Monir's house caught fire around at 8:30 am. Despite their efforts to douse the flames, the house was completely burned down, and Sumaiya, who was sleeping inside, perished in the blaze.

At the time of the fire, Both Sumaiya's her parents were out of their house for work. Locals suspect that the fire originated from an electrical circuit board.

Initially the investigation suggests an electrical short circuit as the probable cause of the tragedy, OC added.
