Army seizes firearms from UPDF’s hideout in Rangamati

DHAKA, Mar 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army early today conducted a special drive against top-tier miscreants of UPDF (Main) in Kaukhali area of Rangamati district, Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT), and recovered firearms and other local weapons from there.

Based on secret information, the army personnel conducted the operation early today, said a release of the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this evening.

During the operation, the army patrol discovered a hideout of UPDF (Main) Regional Armed Group. Upon conducting a search, the army personnel recovered 17 rounds of pistol ammunition, a binocular, a walkie-talkie set, a hard disk, miscreant’s uniforms, extortion receipts and other equipment from the hideout. 

Army will continue its operations against all regional armed groups who use to threaten peace in the CHT areas, posing a risk to national sovereignty.
